The Greatest Before & After Picture

If you’re reading this chances are you already know my story and how back in the beginning of February I made the decision to get healthy in all aspects of my life (you can read the entire blog post here: http://bit.ly/mugxdY).  A large part of getting healthy involved sticking to a balanced diet and exercising regularly.  I’ve really gone through a great transformation; I’ve lost 35 pounds since I started in February and have a ton of energy.  People are taking notice too.  I get unprompted compliments all the time and it feels great.   So here’s where you’re expecting to see a before and after picture showing my physical transformation; but even though I look incrediBILL, that wouldn’t be the “Greatest Before and After” picture.  Thousands of people have those with much more spectacular results than mine.  Instead, I’m going to show you this before picture:

This is my daughter Madison and this picture was taken about a year ago.  Cute, isn’t she?  I’m showing you this because I want you to pay attention to what she’s holding.  That’s an X-Box 360 controller and she’s holding it pretending to be Daddy.  As you know, kids look up to their parents and will mimic what they do and how they act.  It didn’t hit me until I saw this picture about a month ago, but playing video games was the example I was setting for my daughter and in turn this is what she wanted to do.  It makes me a little sad reflecting on it, but it’s never too late and this is from about a month ago:

That’s the after and that’s my beautiful 3-year-old daughter trying to do Insanity!  I was getting my workout in while cartoons were on the TV and she wanted to try.  So I grabbed my phone real quick and shot this (that's me huffing and puffing in the background).  Then a few weeks ago, I was just hanging out at home with her when she grabbed my mat and told me she wants to exercise.  Then she told me to turn on the video.  So I put Shaun T. on and she went at it for a little bit trying to run in place, do jumping jacks, and her favorite move the Frog Jump, “rrrrribit.”

I’m not just transforming myself by exercising with P90X and Insanity and by eating right and drinking Shakeology daily; I’m transforming the lives of those close to me.  That’s what makes this the “Greatest Before and After” picture and that’s why you should start making efforts to improve your health and fitness.  Take a moment and ask yourself, “What habits of mine are the people close to me mimicking?”  If you have children, are they going to imitate you by grabbing your exercise equipment or are they going to reach for the remote?  What you do in your life will affect the people around you and you have the choice to influence their lives in a positive way.  So what are you going to do today?  Hopefully, you’re either going to get in your normal workout or start a new routine TODAY.  If you’re reading this and have questions about where to start or are nervous for any reason, please feel free to contact me.  I want to help you whether it’s Beachbody related or not because helping others is what I was put here to do and doing so helps keep me on track towards my goals.  Take care and good luck.
