Day 31 of 45

(I've made the decision and commitment to step up my health and fitness in preparation for my first sprint triathlon.  I plan on keeping a daily journal on my progress.  Check out my plans here: http://bit.ly/ixs0xO)

Had a pretty busy day today, but was still able to fit a run in.  I took a different route today and ended up accidently cutting off 1k from it.  Although it might have been for the best because I was not keeping a very good pace and went a little too hard.  I've got a lot to learn still about the running and cycling.  I don't regret jumping into this without a ton of time to prepare, but I wish I would have started earlier.  I just have the mindset that I want to go-go-go and I'm a little worried that I'm going to burn myself out early.

Meal wise I was having a decent day but decided I needed a reward and had some pizza for my last meal.  I'm not all that upset about the decision because the next day I'm starting a 2 or 3 day Shakeology cleanse.  I write 2 or 3 day, because I'm not sure how my Saturday is going to go yet.

Meals
Shakeology with skim milk and peanut butter
Salmon and mashed potatoes
Chicken sausage and asparagus rizzotto
Meal replacement bar
Pizza

Favorite Meal
I thoroughly enjoyed my pizza but honestly the grilled salmon and mashed potatoes easily beat it out.

Exercise
4k run Click here to see the stats from Runkeeper
(I stopped after the 4k, then accidently started it again during my cool down so the averages got thrown off)

  1. I know all about getting excited and wanting to burn up all the energy all at the beginning. I start out all my workouts that way. I get thrilled about it and give it my all, then halfway through, I'm struggling! Just keep in mind the big picture and it has to be paced out. But I'm TERRIBLE at running! I've tried so many times to know I don't have it in me that well. My heart rate gets too high and my asthma kicks in. Ugh!

Salmon and mashed potatoes --- YUM!!
Good luck with the cleanse! I did a little cheat of a snack here and there on mine and I still lost 5lbs! I was terrible the week after in my eating habits, and gained 2 of those lbs back. But I've lost 1.5 lbs this week, so I'm really close to getting back where I was!
